Disable USB ports on Windows PC via Registry




I am going to tell you a trick using which you can disable the USB ports of your computer. Using this trick on your computer, you can disable the USB ports of your system.

Follow the below steps to use this trick :


Step 1. Click on Start > Run.


Step 2. If you cannot find Run, type Run in the search box.


Step 3. Type "regedit" and press ok, this will launch registry editor.


Step 4. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\usbstor.


Step 5. In the work area, double click on start.


Step 6. When you double click on start, Value Data box will open.


Step 7. In the Value Data box, enter 4.






Step 8. Click on ok.


Step 9. Close Registry Editor and refresh your desktop.




Enable USB ports 


To enable the USB ports follow the same process but in the Value Data box, type 3 to the place of 4.



Try this trick yourself, this trick works on Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8.


Note : This trick also disables access to your USB connected devices. So, do not use this trick if you have USB connected keyboard, mouse and other devices.
